What you are buying

A licence to use Cappture on up to five Macs, for a single payment of $19.99. It does not expire and there is nothing to renew. Updates are included for as long as we publish them.

You are buying a licence to use the software, not the software itself. You may not redistribute it, resell it, or publish your licence key for others to use.

The trial

Cappture runs in full for seven days without a licence and without a card — every feature, no watermark, no export limit. When the trial ends the app stops taking new captures until you buy a licence. Everything you already shot is yours and stays exactly where it is, in the app’s library and in Photos.

The trial is counted per Mac, using a one-way hash of the machine identifier. We do this to count days, not to identify you — see the privacy policy for what that means in practice.

Your five Macs

Activating Cappture on a Mac uses one of your five seats. If you replace or sell a machine, deactivate it from your licence page or from inside the app, and the seat frees up immediately.

Reinstalling macOS, or reinstalling the app, does not use a second seat — the same Mac is recognised as the same Mac.

Checking your licence

The app checks your licence about once a week. If it cannot reach us it keeps working for thirty days on what it already knows. You should not lose your camera because our server had a bad afternoon, or because you are somewhere without reception.

What we can end, and when

We may revoke a licence if the payment behind it is reversed, or if the key is published or shared beyond the five Macs it covers. We will email you first at the address the licence was sold to, except where a payment has already been reversed by the card issuer.

You can stop using Cappture at any time. Since your captures are files on your own Mac, nothing of yours goes away when you do.

What we do not promise

Cappture is provided as it is. We have tested it carefully and we use it ourselves, but we cannot promise it will be free of faults, or that it will suit a particular purpose you have in mind. That is what the seven-day trial is for: it costs nothing to find out before you pay.

To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you paid us — $19.99. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything on this page.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will update the date below. A change that materially affects a licence you have already bought will be emailed to you rather than quietly posted.
